Our Story
5×9 Homestead was born from a simple need: clean, honest, local food.
What began as a search for better ingredients naturally grew into a passion for producing them. The homestead started with a small flock of chickens—just enough to keep the family’s eggs fresh and the kitchen well supplied. But as the rhythm of daily care settled in, curiosity turned into commitment, and the operation expanded into bees, honey, and eventually rabbits, each addition chosen with the same intention: raising food with integrity, clarity, and purpose.
Alongside the work of the land, another interest was developing—ham radio. The precision, clarity, and grounded nature of radio communication became an unexpected reflection of homestead life itself. Over time, those ideas blended into the identity of the farm. The name 5×9 Homestead nods to the strongest possible signal report in radio—a message received loud and clear—mirroring the homestead’s commitment to transparent practices, straightforward living, and products that speak for themselves.
Today, 5×9 Homestead stands at the intersection of tradition, self-reliance, and mindful craftsmanship, offering clean, local foods raised with care and a lifestyle shaped by both soil and signal.
