Our Story
YOUR FARM IN THE CITY
At Allandale Farm, we are grounded in our commitment to the land, our community and our unique history. We are proud to connect Boston to its agricultural roots by sustainably growing plants and produce from seed to store. Our path forward is informed by the path we have travelled as we strive to maintain sustainable agricultural and business practices, to invest in our employees and to honor our heritage. By serving our community with events that entertain and educate and by inspiring our youth to be the next generation of stewards, we are your farm in the city.
OUR FARMSTAND, GARDEN CENTER, AND GREENHOUSE
We grow perennials, annuals, herbs, and vegetable starts and sell them alongside our own farm-grown produce in our Farmstand and Garden Center. We also carry seasonal products from local food producers and other local farms, including eggs, dairy, fresh pasta, baked goods, pantry items, and ready to eat items. From June to October, we have CSA pick up on site. We locally source fresh turkeys and pies for Thanksgiving; and sell Christmas trees, wreaths, and decorations from the end of November until we close in mid-December. We partner with Jordan Brothers Seafood to sell fresh fish and seafood year round on Wednesday afternoons. Allandale Farm is ready to supply you with all of your grocery and gardening needs.
OUR OUTDOOR SUMMER PROGRAM
Our Outdoor Summer Program gives children ages 4-13 a comprehensive exposure to outdoor fun and learning on a working farm in the city. We focus our education efforts on gardening, composting, bird and plant identification, exploring, farm animals and outdoor games in the natural environment of our farm. Registration opens by January of every year. Find out more information here.
EVENTS AT ALLANDALE
We host public events here at Allandale – like weekly story time, Guided Foraging Walks, and gardening workshops. We host private events, including field trips, birthdays, private parties, and weddings. For more information, please check out our website.
