Our Story
Borderwinds Farm is a small biodynamic farm in the Piedmont Region of North Carolina. The farm is located an hour from Greensboro, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and Winston-Salem.
I specialize is pastured hens which by MY definition is my hens are allowed to forage on routinely rotated paddocks of pasture to forage on grasses, bugs, seeds, and others critters that chickens fed on. They are supplemented with a layer pellet to ensure they receive 100% of the nutrition they need to be healthy and to provide healthy eggs for us. This feed is vegetarian-based, with no antibiotics or animal by-products or hormones. This diet gives the yolks a nice orange color and the whole eggs a taste, and texture, that I personally prefer over store bought eggs. For ducks, I raise Runner ducks mainly but do have a couple misc other ducks.
