Our Story
Hitt Hacienda is home to more than 70 animals and one hard working couple. Together, we support the homestead by contributing to the permaculture system we have implemented and allowing our animals to live as intended by God. The chickens free-range most of the year on more than 10 acres, at the front of the homestead. Rabbits are moved in a tractor so that the land can fertilized and grass maintained. Pigs live outside in the sunshine while having room to run and root. We feed the animals a combination of home grown produce, nature’s bounty, home raised meat, grocery store discard, and restaurant scraps.
