Our Story

Joy of Illinois Farm was started in 1993 on an old homestead. Our family moved here to have space for our children and to grow some of our own food. On five acres of pasture, we raise Saanen dairy goats, Katahdin sheep, free-range laying hens, pastured meat chickens, African geese, and Muscovy ducks. We also have American Guinea Hogs and a big garden. Our main products for sale daily in the farm store are fresh eggs and unprocessed goat milk, for which we hold an Illinois Raw Dairy Permit. We are located less than 10 minutes west of Champaign. In the spring we hold “Barn Babies Days” for visitors to meet the lambs, kids, baby pigs, and chicks. Tours are available on some Saturday afternoons.
