Our Story

Our raising chickens journey started in 2009 with purchase of a 3 egg incubator to hatch chicks for a 6 year old and 3 year old to see how eggs can turn into chicks. Fortunately all three hatched but, two of them turned out to be roosters. We gave them to a chicken farm where we got fertile eggs from. The same year my 6 year old took baby chicks for show and tell at her school. Since then we raised various breeds of chickens every year in our San Jose ranch. In 2013 we purchased a ranch next to Danville and currently we have cows, sheep, goats, miniature donkeys, horse, pony, pigs, ducks, guinea fowl, couple of geese and peacock pair. Our livestock guardian dog Ginger and her daughter Anthea protect our animals from predators. Our chickens are free range and pasture raised. They roost in oak trees, barn and in their coop.

Our chickens are fed whole grains (barley, oats, rye, wheat etc..) mostly fermented for better digestion. They are scratching in the pasture all day. We are very proud of our livestock on our ranch.
