We started out as with a small dream if having 50 hens to provide us with eggs as well as a few customers in March of 2007. In 2012 when my grandmother’s health started declining, she handed the business over to me and I have grown it into a small business running around 250 pastured hens.
In October of 2014, my family decided to make the move to build a barn for producing fodder for our beef cattle as well as for my chickens. Starting in April of 2015, I will be running two flocks, both on pasture. One will be fed mainly fodder with grain and pasture supplementing the rest of their diet and the other will be fed grain and supplemented with pasture. Also starting in 2015, I am planning on raising some meat chickens that will be raised on pasture with grain fed free choice.
