My wife and I are big animal lovers and caregivers. We have four dogs, two rabbits and nineteen hens. We are in the process of working with English Orpington’s to bring back the true broody of the hens. We have several hens that lay a cluster of six to eight eggs each before they start sitting for twenty one days. We do not use incubator’s to hatch our chickens. That is our goal when selling to other breeder’s is to encourage that the hen goes broody and try to establish the broody gene back into backyard chickens. All of our chickens free-range on about one fenced in acre.
