I have been raising chickens for 7 years. I started with 12 chicks. Such a newbie, I thought it would be just fine to raise them in the bathtub of our seldom used bathroom. Wow! Was I wrong. Took me months to get rid of the chicken dust. I now raise new chicks outside. Right now I have about 40 hens. Looking forward to the spring because this year I’m replenishing with new chicks, a few ducks and perhaps a turkey or two. I raise my chickens for eggs only. I do have a few roosters so some eggs may be fertilized. No problem because my hens do not sit on the eggs.
I am certified by the state of Georgia as an egg candler and practice safe handling of eggs. My eggs are picked up daily and packed.
