Our Story
Vale Creek Farm is a small family farm. Our goal is to provide the local community with the best possible meat, eggs, and produce, while implementing regenerative and ethical farming practices.
After years of dreaming of having our own farm, we finally found the perfect place with an old farmhouse in the summer of 2020. Since then we have been building livestock fences, clearing out brambles, and rejuvenating neglected pastures. We welcomed our first small cattle herd to the farm in 2021 and our cows have had 3 calves since. In March on 2022 we received 200 day old chicks to raise as laying hens, which are now pasture raised in an egg mobile built on an old 24-ft trailer frame. Eggs will be available beginning in the late summer.
A small and diverse, no-dig market garden has been started in the spring of 2022. The seed starts are currently in the living room in a homemade grow station, while we plan to eventually build a greenhouse. The farm will have a roadside farm stand starting in the summer of 2022.
Agroforestry is another extensive project we have implemented on the farm. Nut trees have been started from seed and planted throughout the pastures including oak, walnut, chestnut, and hazelnut. These trees will give shade for grass and livestock, produce nut crops, and create an ecosystem for diverse wildlife.
